Why don’t you work for a gym? There are a lot of answers to this question but the most important one is that I don’t want there to be any obstacle between you and your improved fitness. I can work with you in your home, at a community center, at a track… wherever is convenient to you! You may have an awesome gym membership this year, but who knows what next year will bring? Plus what if it’s storming one day, or the childcare isn’t available on Tuesday — whatever… I want to bring fitness to your life in a way that makes it possible for you to create a habit that stays with you longer than a gym membership; and leaves no excuses for tomorrow! I also don’t want to work under anyone else’s ideas of how to motivate clients/what I should tell them to eat/ what “products” to push or any general “sales” stipulations. You may need a few sessions to get you back on track, or you may need ongoing support. Working for myself I can better tailor my services to you/your needs and your budget — I’m not motivated to work toward a corporate goal like I’m motivated to help you work toward your own.

How does your pricing work? I don’t post prices here because I don’t want that to deter anyone who needs help to contact me. Also my fees have to do with how much support you need, and everyone’s program and needs are different. My pricing works like many trainers where individual sessions can be purchased or a package of sessions with an hourly discount. Distance training is paid monthly. Please contact me with your individual goals and we can work something out that works for you!

Why do I need you? Well in short, you don’t. My resources tab has all the information you need to get yourself started. Trouble is, you already know where to find information about healthy eating and exercise. And perhaps it isn’t working for you. I think that all the information in the world leads to overwhelming goals resulting in failure. We have all done the “tomorrow I’ll start the only raw foods/no carbs/never any sugar for the rest of my life” diet. And it never works because we are biting off more than we can chew. My program sets small weekly goals geared toward your life so you can lose the weight and keep it off. It isn’t about starving yourself or living by any list of food “goods and evils.” It’s about taking small steps that lead to a new healthier lifestyle that suits you. I also have the experience of having been obese and hopeless. I understand the “demons” that keep you from sticking to a plan, and all the mental obstacles in your way. I’m captain of the cheerleading squad for you, and when you really change your life you need steady support. If that sounds appealing — then you may need me. :)

I don’t live in Kansas… can you still help me? Why yes I can! I offer distance training which involves a lot of contact (as much as you need or want) via text/phone/email, however you prefer. Together we set nutrition and fitness goals much like we would in one-on-one sessions and I’m with you as you meet and exceed your expectations. Many of my clients are in the local Lawrence/Kansas City area and still choose the distance training option, some of them occasionally meeting with me for one-on-one sessions to ensure proper form on exercise and push themselves a little farther because the distance training option is a more budget-friendly solution than ongoing individual training sessions and as effective.

It’s cool that you used to be fat and all but I’m not, what can you do for me? While I used to be overweight I continue to challenge myself with new and bigger fitness goals. I’ve gone from the original goal to go from “obese” to “overweight” to goals like “run a marathon” and lofty weight training goals. If you are wanting to lose the last 5-10 lbs, train for a race, improve your athletic performance or just take your current routine up a notch I’m the girl for you. I’m not just about going from unhealthy to healthy, but I am personally on a constant quest to be better, faster, stronger and I can train you too!
