roasted pumpkin seeds; 2 ways

We carved our pumpkins last night and I decided to get all Suzy homemaker and roast the seeds.  Cleaning them off is the most difficult part.  This isn’t the healthiest of all healthy recipes, but this is how I like em.

Rinse off pumpkin seeds as best you can and boil them in salted water about 5 minutes.

Spread seeds out on baking sheets and allow to rest 12-24 hours to dry.

WAY 1:

In small sauce pan melt 2 T butter and add 2 dashes hot sauce, 1 T garlic powder, 1t sea salt, 1 small pinch red pepper flakes

WAY 2:

In small sauce pan melt 2 T butter and add 4 T brown sugar, 1 1/2 T pumpkin pie spice

Toss 1 1/2 cups seeds in mixture and spread on greased cookie sheet

roast in 350 degree oven 20-30 minutes until golden brown

Allow to cool
